Meadow Lea

From Seed to Tub

Have you ever wondered how MeadowLea is made?

It really is quite simple! It was the Australian fields that first inspired our name, and it’s in those same fields that every tub of MeadowLea begins its journey. Learn about the journey from seed to tub below.

Step 1: Farmers grow our canola & sunflower seeds
MeadowLea spreads are made from over 70,000 natural seeds. The canola seeds that go into our MeadowLea spreads are Non-Genetically Modified. Our canola seeds are sourced locally from Australian Seed growers, whilst the sunflower seeds are sourced from the warm climate of South America.
Step 2: The Natural Plant Seeds are harvested
To find out more about seeds, see our seed facts section.
Step 3: The seeds are crushed to extract the canola and sunflower oils
These oils are considered the 'good oils' because of their nutritional content and health benefits. Click here to find out more about oils.
Step 4: Other MeadowLea ingredients are added
99% of MeadowLea's ingredients are made from natural sources. Milk, water, a small amount of palm oil & a pinch of salt are added to the plant seed oils. < 1% of additives are added to keep MeadowLea fresh. < 0.5% of natural colours & flavour are added to give the taste we all love. See how MeadowLea is made.
Step 5: The perfect MeadowLea spread for you to enjoy
The mixture is then cooled to make a smooth spreadable MeadowLea spread – perfect for cooking, baking or spreading on your favourite sandwich.
